I Gots Me Some Gold

Little Britain (the store, not the show) has a hunt for 13 gold coins around their sim. I haven't been able to find out how long it lasts, so it might not be for too long. Who knows?

*EDIT* Apparently, this hunt ended already. Like, a short while ago...maybe an hour or a little over (it's 5:20am in my corner of the world now.) Kudos if you got to the hunt, if not...sorry suckah! >=}

At any rate, I went and did this hunt, and I'm gonna show some of my finds here, except the pants, which all seems to be for girls, or at least didn't fit right on me, personally.

I thought it was amusing how much I've changed over the short time I've been on SL, so I decided to share it here.

Myself and Jenica Landar when we were first starting out (photo taken from Rhiannon Lewinter.) We look a bit..noobish. Check out my....everything. Whoa.
A gargoyle and me. This was in Transylvania with Jenica Landar and her man, Nico. She took the photo. I dig the Space Invaders scarf.
And this is now. At present, I am lying on the couch in Cyanide, since I can't TP anywhere. Awesome.

Oh hey. Wow, it's been a while. Heh, what can I say, life is busy.
Well, I'm here now, and I have at least a few things to toss your way, even if you have possibly seen them already.

First up! There's a new store around called Cyanide, and they have some great piercings, tats for the ladies, and some shapes. Rumor has it there may be some skins in the future as well. But, for now, there is a lucky chair for shapes, a camping chair for a piercing set, and a dollarbie shape for men and women. (Not to mention they have the Cyanide Girls. Hot!)

(On an unrelated note: the tape on my fingers comes from Sinistyle [L$25]. Get it here.)
I, of course, am wearing the male one in this photo (called Elston), as well as the set of Arsenic piercings.

The piercings cost L$175. The shape is, obviously, L$1. Get snag them, and other stuff, here.

I'm honestly too lazy to take photos (and very bad at it besides), so I'll just fill you in on the rest, textually.

Laqroki, of course, has a freebie for men, and one for women, in the apparel store (just follow the TP board). There was a rumor of free hair too, but I searched the hair store and came up empty. Hit up Laqroki here.

Peppermint Blue always has a wall of freebies, and when they can, they have a men's freebie. This time around, it's a suit. Hit them up here.

Gear Shift has three freebies lying out, all you have to do is join the group to get them. The stuff you have to buy in the store isn't bad either. Head on over there.

Creations By Ana has a ton of dollarbie bracelets, mostly for women, but there are at least three there that guys can wear, if they wear bracelets. Head over there.

Belleza still has the free skins for men and women in the main area of the store when you first walk in. Go get them. It's worth it. Trust me, those things are expensive. Get over there.

At Vitamen, you can go to the lucky board and get a pair of underwear. (You probably need it anyway.)

Also, the plan for a small place to put freebies and dollarbies for men is still a go. So be watching this blog. I almost have some land secured.

In about 2 (or maybe 3) weeks time, I will be opening a store called Findings. This store will be filled (mostly) with dollarbies and freebies for men, and will have some unisex items thrown in.

I'm trying to create a place where men (like myself) can go find some afforable things in one place, and also provide a place for some designers to get a little free advertising.

I'll be busy for a while; contacting store owners, collecting donations, helping piece together my idea of what the store should look like, setting out the goods, and trying to keep myself sane.

Eventually, I will probably add in some things for the women, but since there are so many stores for the ladies out there with very good freebies, I'll still be focusing mainly on men and the unisex things (which, hey...the ladies can pull off wearing our clothes, but we just come out looking silly if we do that).

So, if anyone happens by and reads this that wants to help out or knows someone that would help out, give me a yell in world, or on here.

Alta Moda is moving it's main store, and they're having a moving sale. Aside from the sale items, you can go around the store, starting outside by the moving truck, and click on the boxes held by the mover men (non person avatars carrying cardboard boxes) to get prizes. The one outside is a unisex gift, and the rest of the men's gifts are upstairs. Of course, that means downstairs is a bunch of women's things.And over at Heaven's Skin & Shape, you can find some men's skins, shapes, clothes, and hair for free. The rest of the store is various free and not so free things for women.
UPDATE: Again, it seems, this may be a place with stolen items. As soon as I find out if what someone told me in private is true or not, I will figure out what to do.
Absentia has a table of freebies, and two lucky chairs for the ladies (I assume, anyway). So go grab the freebies that exist for us guys, and show the others off to the ladies you know.

And lastly, we have Taro Fashion, which my lovely Nytefyre Gravois left me a message about, which has a few men's and women's freebies right inside the door for you to go snag.

Nooby Doo has tons of things for men and women for free, and there are camping chairs for both sexes with various items you can camp for, but only if you have 100 minutes to spend on it. And yes, there are two lucky chairs, but they seem to only be for the ladies.

Then go over to Leisurely and find some cheap skins, boots, and some random home related objects, as well as cheap things for the ladies. Most of it is only 10L, so enjoy.
Caledon Victoria City has two wagons full of freebies and dollarbies, but most of them are geared toward the steampunk movement. However, I did get everything male related there, because I'm a pack rat of the highest order.Shiny Things has a pair of painter's shoes (unisex) for 0L, and of course, all the shoes in store are great, so get some.
LA Couture has a wall on the first floor with a group join sign, a dollarbie unisex shirt, and a monthly gift for both men and women.
Starlust Motel always has a ton of dollarbies and such inside the motel lobby, and the stores around the land have good clothing at reasonable prices, so go check them out, for yourself and your lady friend.Go to Gracile and snag a kick ass hat for just 75L.

Over at StarChild you can buy some clothes and shoes for a dollar a piece, because they are making room for some new inventory, but I'm not sure how long it'll last, so get down there quickly! The men's dollarbies are upstairs, and the ladies are downstairs.

UPDATE: I'm leaving this up, for now...but someone informed me in private that this place possibly has mostly (if not all) stolen products, and once I find out if this is true or not, I may be taking this down.

Christmas has decided to, well, ban Christmas for now in favor of Halloween (Nightmare Before Christmas, anyone?) and I managed to see a few things that interested me.
There is a pumpkin swing with four poses suspended high in the air, which made for a minutes worth of amusement, and spinning pumpkins on the left snowbank behind some of the stores.

But! I also found a free Halloween skybox at Boddhisattva.

And what I can only assume (since I didn't really buy it) is a collection of art at Rujimeal.
Then I headed to the top of the summit, and I dropped to my knees in wonder and praise of the Great Pumpkin and his giant suckers and chocolate and ice cream!
Yum.

So, I sat here thinking about what I could use at first, then decided, out of laziness if nothing else, to use the freebies I informed the Hey Girlfriend! group about (I'm the resident guy-about-freebies, it seems). Let's get to it:

Now, I know you can find these Engineer Boots everywhere, but I chose to get them at Shoe Store Elan in Okinawa, and it comes with the Atuzoko Boots, which are for women, obviously, but hey...if you ever feel the need to drag it up, you'll be ready. (Not that I've ever done that.)

Over at Temenos Place in Temenos, you can find two pairs of boots and a neko eyepatch geared toward both sexes.

At Maschienenwerk on Buffett Island (which had me singing Cheeseburger in Paradise for some reason) you can find skins, shapes, jeans, shirts, hair, and glasses geared toward both sexes once again. There's even some camping spots for some skins, although I admit there wasn't much skin and shape wise I needed, so I snagged two pairs of geeky looking glasses from the first floor, then headed upstairs and grabbed the James Dean pants, a pair of pants called Klang (Uewebawo over at Hey Girlfriend! came to mind), and a Steve McQueen shirt, then decided to jet off to my next location.

Which brought me to my last place for this post: Mirada at Hairspray 2. There was a hunt going on here for the Grand Opening, but since I didn't see any of the stars lying in the places I remembered, I assume it's over now. Anyway, there are some freebies on the wall upstairs at Mirada, and across the walkway at Savoir Hair, there are a few sets of hair for men to use.
